The local wine from the Maures is a PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) produced only in the Var department.
Often wrongly considered as inferior, local wines are very aromatic, full-bodied and frank on the palate. Although less refined than the Côtes de Provence, they remain very nice.

The red and rosé wines are mostly made with Merlot, Sauvignon and Mourvedre; white, with Ugni Blanc or Viognier. It is not uncommon to see also the Sauvignon.

Local red wine

Maures white 2019

"Mademoiselle Rose" White Vin de Pays des Maures 2019 (PGI)

Very expressive, with subtil spicy and acacia flower notes, this is a festive wine. It is ideal as an aperitif and with an assortment of fresh goat cheese.
