Terroir

Family vineyard, the Clos des Roses is located on the land of Fréjus, which is one of the few in France to be operated on volcanic lands. The red rock, characteristic of the Esterel, contributes to the richness of our small vineyard with 10 hectares of vines are treated only with natural products, used in organic farming. Completely renovated in 2006, from the vines to the cellar, the winery produces mainly rosé (75%) wine but also white and red, with both appellations "Côtes de Provence" (AOC or PDO) and Vin de Pays des Maures (PGI).

Carefully raised, our wines express with character and finesse. The palette of Clos des Roses, composed by nine different grapes, offers bright rosé and white wines, with floral aromas and fruits which freshness is so characteristic of the Provençal terroir. As for the red, silky and balance is associated with aromatic complexity giving rise to quality wines.
Therefore, the grapes have been carefully selected according to their adaptation to the soil, and to provide a consistent range. So, Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvedre and Rolle were planted for Côtes de Provence (AOC); Merlot, Viognier, Cabernet and Sauvignon Blanc for Vins de Pays (PGI).

The vineyard tries to understand the wine-growing world as close to the earth and the land as possible. The year 2013 was the culmination of three years of a process wishing to restrict the use of chemicals for growing vines. Throughout the vegetative cycle, we use natural products, commonly used in organic farming. Indeed, copper and sulfur are more environmentally friendly and help to fight against cryptogamic diseases (powdery mildew and mildew).
In addition, the use of silica, mashed nettle and horsetail strengthens the natural defenses of the vine.

Le Clos des Roses distinguishes itself by an optimal combination between modern technologies and the use of rational agriculture.
